Edit: Zebrahead added a second show on the spot tonight, so I’m no longer angry at them. Still, it’s an interesting story.
Zebrahead is playing a free show tonight in Fullerton. I, like the fool I am, arrived super early because I didn’t know when the line would start or anything. I knew the place they were performing had small capacity, that affected the decision too.
There’s also the fact that Zebrahead rarely plays in the US because they are so popular in Europe and Japan. This show was basically a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
I’m 5th in line at 6:50, and I’ve been told the wristbands will be given out at 7:30. At 7:24, a security guard comes out and tells the 50 to 60 people waiting in line that due to reservations made beforehand and the “band’s guest”, there are no more wristbands. Before they were supposed to be given out. A room that fits maybe 200 people, and all space has been taken up before the fans can come inside.
Security mentioned the band brought in guests like label people and close friends. I don’t know how many reservations were made (which, by the way, I didn’t see on the venue’s website), but I cannot believe that there are so many guests that it takes up 200 spaces. If I missed the reservation thing, so did the other 50 or so people in line.
I don’t know what to do now. My entire day has been wasted on this band. I feel so fucking let down right now.
